The Star Tracker system helps the Orbiter navigate while in orbit. Its two units are located in wells set in front and to the left of the cockpit window on the outside of the shuttle. The Star Tracker figures out exactly where the Orbiter is by determining the vehicleÕs position in relation to stars in the sky.
